Day 22 - A song you listen to when you’re sad
Sentimental Scenery - Soundscape
This is one of the best pieces of instrumentals I’ve ever encountered. At first the traditional instrument takes center stage (reminiscent of Chinese erhu) and gives the song a beautiful tragic twinge, where the string sounds almost like a human voice, and each bow stroke is a sob, or sigh, or wail (use your imaginations here people!). But then the blend of piano and percussion and classical strings take over in the last third, and suddenly the whine of the traditional string is less lonely, and the climax is actually super uplifting. Again, I say use music to guide your feelings, not drown it in sugar frosting.
